Longmont, CO, July, 2009 - DPA Microphones, manufacturer of a wide range of products for broadcast, film, studio and live recording, has been granted Music Engineering & Technology Alliance certification for the DPA 4011-TL transformerless cardioid condenser microphone.
Successor to the legendary B&K/DPA 4011 cardioid microphone, the 4011-TL continues the DPA heritage with its uncompromising sound quality. State-of-the-art components are hand-selected to provide optimum transparency, accuracy and extremely low distortion. The microphone has been designed to handle extremely high SPL's of up to 158dB before clipping.
"My 4011's travel with me to every recording session," remarked METAlliance founding director Ed Cherney. "I originally got my 4011's to deal with a drummer who would hit his hi-hat cymbal so hard that most mics that I tried would just get overloaded.
