Nashville, TN, January 2023 — The METalliance (Music Engineering and Technology Alliance) is presenting live tracking and mixing “In Session” January 28 & 29 in Nashville at the Blackbird Studio.

Elliot Scheiner and Chuck Ainlay are tracking Grammy Award-winning artist, songwriter, producer Jon Randall in famed Blackbird studio D with top studio musicians using the Nashville number system. Ainlay says, “Attendee’s will witness the magic of a song coming to life from its inception to the chill bumps of a final take. It’s also very likely you will be In Session for another hit song written by Jon.” Ainlay and Scheiner will offer varied recording techniques and interaction with the attendees, musicians and artist.

A Grammy, CMA, and ACM-Award-winner, Jon Randall was born and raised in Dallas, and caught his first big break after moving to Nashville, where he was invited to join Emmylou Harris’s Nash Ramblers band. In the years to come, he would go on to release a series of widely lauded solo records, produce for Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Dwight Yoakam, Jack Ingram, Pat Green, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others, and write with and for the likes of Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, Little Big Town, Guy Clark, Kenney Chesney, Reba McEntire, and countless more. In 2021 Jon Randall released his self-titled solo record as well as the critically acclaimed record “The Marfa Tapes” with frequent collaborators Miranda Lambert and Jack Ingram.

Additionally, Frank Filipetti and George Massenburg cover immersive mixing in famed Studio C. Massenburg explores his recent work, including Alicia Keys (Grammy-winning Best Immersive Album) and Earth, Wind & Fire. Filipetti discusses his recent outstanding immersive album work with acts as varied as Korn and George Michael.

Jimmy Douglass in Studio F will be sharing techniques of his recent immersive mixes, including titles by Justin Timberlake.

Sylvia Massy and Niko Bolas team up for tracking both days in Studio A with two very special music artists, to announced soon.

The weekend features two live tracking sessions and two mixing sessions.
